We waited a week and we now finally know who the Bears will be facing off against at Noon on Sunday along the lake front and it is none other then, the Seattle Seahawks. Wait that has to be wrong? No way did the lowly 7-9 Seattle Seahawks upset the defending Super Bowl champion Saints who were a double digit favorite. Oh they did, ok.
And you tell me everyone in Chicago is trilled about the matchup and are already looking ahead to the NFC Championship game, well great. Wait didn't the Seahawks beat the Bears at Soldier Field already this season?
Incase you can't tell a lot of that was sarcasm. I have not been real happy with how the media is covering this game. And I don't want to hear who cares about the media as long as the players don't overlook Seattle but who know what when everyone starts telling you something and keeps repeating it over and over again you might actually start to believe it.
Since the Packers beat the Eagles the Bears were going to get the winner of the Seahawks-Saints game no matter what and to be honest, I would have preferred to see the defending champs. Da Bears have beaten Drew Brees and his high powered offense before, not this year but in the past. I would have loved to see the dome team come out and play in the cold and snow just like they did a few years back when the Bears went to the Super Bowl.
But instead we get the Seahawks and I'm not a fan of the matchup. Many have pointed out we have a very different offense now but the offense didn't let Mike Williams catch 10 passes for over 100 yards and let Forsett & Lynch rush for over 100 combined. Besides the running game struggling the offense didn't do a whole lot wrong that game, hell they even got a punt return TD from Hester but they still lost 23-20.
The Bears have trouble with teams that can run the ball and they have a veteran QB who has played the Bears several times before including a playoff game here before. In my mind the Seahawks are 2-0 in these playoffs. They had to beat the Rams to get in and then they outscored the high flying Saints. I think the Bears will pull this game out but I believe it will be a lot closer then anyone thinks and I believe the line is somewhere between 9 & 10 and I would definitely take the Seahawks to cover.
