Bulls say goodbye to Lucas
John Lucas we hardly knew you.
The Chicago Bulls released Lucas on Tuesday, one day before his contract would have become guaranteed for the remainder of the season.
Lucas who appeared in only two games after being picked up by the Bulls when Derrick Rose missed a game during the circus trip. Lucas who was signed on November 26 was at a restaurant eating wings when the Bulls called but was able to make it to Denver that night and played 4 minutes. The only other game he appeared in was on December 21 as the Bulls blew out the 76ers at the United Center.
The highlight, or maybe lowlight is a better term to use, during his time in Chicago is him being inserted late in that first game and missing two free throws. The Bulls ended up losing that game 98-97 as Carmelo Anthony hit the game winning shot.
The move is most likely to keep the Bulls with as much cap space as possible as the trade deadline approaches and there is no reason to play Lucas as long as DRose and CJ Watson are both healthy.
I would expect this to have been Lucas' last shot in the NBA and might end up overseas rather quickly. Best of luck JL3.
