Former Blackhawk great Chris Chelios was reassigned from the Atlanta Trashers back to the Chicago Wolves.
Chelios appeared in 7 games since his call up on March 10 and totaled 0 points. Atalnta had hoped that Chelios' veteran influence could help the Trashers make the playoffs. They were officially elimanted with Tuesday's loss to New Jersey.
Chris has appeared in more games then any other American born player. Once he finally calls it quits I would predict his #7 will be joining the likes of Bobby Hull and company in the rafters of the UC. The timeline might also depend on the current #7 Brent Seabrook.
Besides Chelios the Trashers also assigned Tim Stapleton to the Wolves. Tim had made it on the ice for 6 games and was playing well as of late scoring 2 goals in his last 3 games.
Tim is a Chicago kid who attended Fenwick High School in Oak Park. He appeared in 4 games last season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Stapleton who is listed at 5'9 160lbs probably has his size working against him. In comparison Patrick Kane who is considered small is 5'10 178 lbs.
Tim has played pretty well this year during his time with the Wolves totaling 58 points (29 goals & 29 assists) in 71 games. Here's hoping that he can catch on with a team next year and make a big splash.
