I love fantasy football. There is no better fantasy sport then football. If you have never done it I highly recommend it. It isn't all time comsuming like baseball. It requires you to maybe check your team twice a week. Once to set your lineup on Sunday then a second time Tuesday to check your score, standings and make some pickups if need be.
I'm in four fantasy leagues. Two on CBSsportsline with buddies that are pay leagues which I have won both in the past and defending champ in one. One Yahoo league that I have been in for years that is just for fun with a lot of random people that usually gets neglected, most years I miss the draft due to poor scheduling. Then finally I always do a random ESPN league mostly as a practice before my real drafts to see where people are being taken.
This year I actually did the ESPN draft last and think I may have ended up with my best team out of the four. I have decided for the purpose of my site I will be using my ESPN team as the team I share with everyone and take advice on.
So for this week I thought I would just share how my draft went which was last Sunday after the final preseason games. I ended up having the 6th pick in a snake draft so in odd rounds I drafted 6th and on the way back in the evn rounds I drafted 5th. Scoring is standard and each week we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DST and a RB/WR flex
1. Michael Turner
2. Calvin Johnson
3. Ryan Matthews (he went round 1 or early round 2 in other leagues)
4. Anquan Boldin
5. Wes Welker
6. Antonio Gates
7. Jerome Harrison
8. Joe Flacco
9. Donoven McNabb
10. Michael Bush
11. Ravens D
12. Chargers D
(I like having two good defenses, allows me to play the matchup game)
13. Austin Collie (remember Brandon Stockley in the slot for the Colts)
14. Mike Williams, Seahawks (with the release of TJ he is the starter)
15.Sideny Rice (why not take a flyer on him, may pay off come playoff time)
16. Robbie Gould (I always try to take a Bear and having a team name of Good as Gould makes Robbie an easy choice)
I finished first during the regular season last year in the ESPN league but lost in the championship during the playoffs. I think I have a very good chance of sweeping both this season.
