Na Na Na Na…..Na Na Na Na….hey hey hey goodbye…. That is the song bears fans have and are singing for Lovie Smith. A Great coach who lead the Bears two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl. He will be missed! But there is a new guy in town now, Marc Trestman.
Resume of Marc Trestman
Played quarterback for three years at the University of Minnesota
Played his senior season at Minnesota State University Moorhead
Attended Minnesota training camp 1978 and ’79 as a defensive back
Coached the University of Miami 1981
Was named Quarterbacks coach in ’83 and lead his quarterback to National Championship and won
In 2005 lead North Carolina State Wolfpack as an Offensive Coordinator and led the team to a bowl win
Served in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona, Oakland, and Miami Dolphins as a head coach, running backs coach, and quarterbacks coach
Coached in the CFL and won back to back Grey Cups
Was interviewed for the Indianapolis Colts for the head coaching position in 2011 but Chuck Pagano got the job #chuckstrong .
Works with quarterbacks as the enter the NFL Draft
Now he is the Chicago Bears head coach. He is offensive minded where Lovie believe on defense wins championships. The Monsters of the Midway have been one the best defenses in the league. He has worked with Jay Cutler before so he already has a head start. Brandon Marshall has settled in and Alshon Jeffery is a rising star. But the offensive line needs a lot of work.
Marc…good luck and lets have a good draft and a good future
