1950- Chuck Cooper becomes first black to play in the NBA. 

1965- NBA Championship: Boston Celtics beat the LA Lakers 4-1

1974- NFL moves goal post and makes sudden death possible if tie after fourth quarter.

1985- His second time, Wayne Gretzky, scores seven goals in a Cup game.

1989- Penguins Mario Lemuix ties NHL record for 4 goals in the first period. 

1997- Ken Griffey Jr. hits his 250th HR.
